For some reason, this reminds me of those ships marked very explicitly with "Research" while their crews are broadcasting, to a ridiculous extend, to anyone observing their "research" that they are "doing science", while it is obvious to most of us that the ships are actually abusing laws concerning scientific study to acquire valuable biological resources.

So maybe we should give the SOCT a call to evaluate their welfare before we enter the Jovian home uninvited. In fact, I just might alert them to some aspects of this "scientific research planning" myself.
